And your photo about a baby of the Long-eared Owl (Asio otus) ( I think, it`s this species ) is just enjoyable and charming. Somebody should have taken a photo about you in this situation, looking up with your camera and this little owl looking down at you.
Brilliant photo, extraordinary in its composition and remarkably well balanced with the oblique lines and the dots of the flowers. Great colour scheme too!!!!
Denton, by layering do you mean the watermark strip?
if so, the effect was done via Photofiltre (freeware), select Gradient. In this case, the effect was applied only in the vertical stripe and adjust the gradient's opacity to your preference.
