Day after christmas

P1180465
Main square - The air was crisp and clear.

P1180478
Some were enjoying the newly paved jogging trail at the park ... brrr

P1180487
While we just carefully walked and take in the sight ...

P1180488
Then our legs were numb from the cold...

Saying good bye to winter 2007

Bonfire and fireworks in the rain? At first I was too lazy to pull myself from the couch to go for the bonfire but am glad I did. The turn out was encouraging as well. Couldnt get a good pic of fireworks, sorry.
That wasn't the end of the karnevál, next was back to the auditorium where rock band Zanzibar is awaiting to perform. Me, of course I'm happy to go back to my couch :)

*reflection effect was done with dumpr.net which i'm addicted!

Saying good bye to winter

The official Karnevál is ongoing since yesterday. It kicks off to a slow start due to the rain. As usual the atmosphere picked up by the end of the programme with free flow of mulled wine. If you'll excuse me, today's activities will start at 9am..I don't wanna miss the "kiddie" train ride!

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Not too far away...

...or so far away? Did someone from above forget to sprinkle snowflakes down this part of the world?
am following this GreenBritain project over at skynews extensively and that really set me worried with our climate. This photo was taken on winter of Dec'05 and snow lasted til Feb/Mar'06 (approx). But today we enjoyed a nice 10°c and if not mistaken I saw some spring flowers sprouting, huh???

Glimpses

See the benches out there? Its a popular spot on a fine day with neighbours, young and old together "chirping" away. As we walk out, we greet nearly all of them "Jó napot! {Good day}" "Szia! {see-ya}" "csokolom" or waving of hands. That's one of the things I like about living here, no matter how busy or in the rush, you still make a point to greet people you see outside/at the lobby/near the elevator of your home even if you dont know them personally.

Read my ealier post on greetings.

Life document

It didnt matter that it was raining heavily, we wanted a breather from translation work. Besides, it gives us a chance to test the new bigger better umbrella. which reminded me the reason why we needed a new one..

A friend of mine once told me that in the beginning of her marriage, she and hubby could fit themselves comfortably even on a single-sized bed. Few years down the line, they had needed a bigger bed with each complaining wanting their own space! Also, to avoid either one falling from the bed due to pushing. :D
In my case, we recently upgraded the umbrella to fit 3 of us... No.3 being my camera (and expanding waistlines)! yes, we finally get to test the umbrella yesterday.

I'm writing nonesense..that's my account of yesterday. Have a smiley Monday!
