I do it my way

Caught this rare scene yesterday. What's special about it? ok, I must confess that I have this fascination for clothesline...erm, hope I don't sound fetish :p. Such a scene is hard to come by with almost everyone spin drying their clothes these days..The ideal place would be to fly to Barcelona and indulge in their plentiful of clothes lines..at the moment this will surfice. Do you know there's a project laundry list which showcases arts on the subject? So, I'm not weird after all ;)

TOP FIVE REASONS TO HANG OUT YOUR CLOTHES
Electric dryers use five to ten percent of residential energy.
1. Clothes last longer.
2. Clothes and sheets smell better.
3. Save energy, thus preventing pollution.
4. Save money.
5. You get some exercise and can do this activity outside.

I like the colors and the lines! I have checked out the link you gave us -- will have to make more note of clotheslines in the future! (By the way, as you may know, there are no more beautiful clothes-on-the-line than in Guatemala. :) I keep watching the Antigua Daily Photo, hoping to catch a glimpse! :) )

tres bon post, avec beaucoup d'humour.
belle photo.
En France, il est souvent interdit d'étendre son linge dehors (où meme sur les balcons) dans les immeubles

very good post, with much of humour. beautiful photograph. In France, it is often interdict to extend its linen outside (where same on the balconies) in the buildings

Love all the angles, lines and colors in this shot. I like the clothes on the line too.

Would your fetish be satisfied by an indoor clothesline? We had to do that when we lived in Paris (had a washer, but no dryer) because like Olivier mentioned above, in our fancy arrondissement outdoor drying was interdit.

Now, could you please expand on the comment you left on my site - illegal shelling on illegal island...sounds fascinating;-)

Sigh. I still use a electric dryer because it is more convenient. Staying 16 stories up in the sky is not easy to hang things out. haha...

I love this photo... and I agree with your reasons for air drying even though we rarely do it that way.

keropok,
ah, it might flown away at 16th floor. If not mistaken in some high rise housing in Msia, there's restriction to outdoor laundry, to keep the exterior tidy

isabelle,
oh, i'll do that at your comment box ;)

thank you all for stoppping by.

6th reason: you will find all your socks because the dryer won't have eaten them. (I see all their socks are easy to find!)

I went to an Australian artist's slide show and she started with about a dozen shots of laundry from around the world, and finished with another one - I don't remember what art she practiced, now.

I have to say, though, I do love my towels dried in the dryer.
