Progress?

I bet you , you didn't know how many traffic lights are there in your city/town! well, me neither, until last night. I was told that the only place that's equiped with the lights is at the cross junction and so I counted them in my head = 8 traffic lights for the whole town!!

The news is, soon the lights might go and replaced with a round-about due to the low traffic flow; however, it is still in proposal stage. Personally, I think the move would be a step backward ...

It might be a step backward but sometimes a roundabout has more character. I do hate to drive them though. Seems there are a lot of bicycles too. We don't have many lights either since we are a small town too.
Like the photo in black and white.

As a photographer I would prefer the round-about. I feel traffic lights, street lights, and electric power lines really get in the way of a good photo! However, as a resident I really would hate to do without them.

In my mom's town (Tatabánya) are very few traffic lights, too. The funny is that almost all those few lights are located to the same street:) Its rather like an exhibition..

What a great photo. I love how most of it's black and white, with just bits of color. It has a timeless quality.

My town has two full traffic lights, and one flashing red one, which is basically a glorified stop sign. You have way more than us. :)

Love that old fashion feeling of this picture...
As for the traffic lights, I cannot even imagine 8 lights for the whole town! We have 8 light within a quarter mile of our house :-(((

A nice photo of downtown. Love the bicycles. I get an idea now of the size of Szentes . . . sort of like the town where I grew up (around 7,000 pop.). I don't like roundabouts either, except for when they make me laugh at Chevy Chase in "European Vacation."

I don't really care for either traffic lights nor roundabouts but I do care for see super photographsand this is one such.

Awwwwww Kris, what a fantastic shot...and I can only dream about what it would be like to have only 8 traffic lights here in Santa Clara...no take that back...we'd be stuck in gridlock for the rest of our lives! LOL! Really nice shot...great colorization...without the color, it looks like it could be really old! Have a great week! =)

ame,
lol! that would be like not waking up from nightmare :D

mandy,
thank u!

ruth,
true that round-about does provide lots of laughs in the movie. In real life, i've some funny experience as well :D

isabella,
as a driver, i understand traffic lights are "problematic" but it is safer to have than not, so...

Norma,
for the inexperience driver. It can be scarry actually. I still remember my first drive around them..phew :D

celine,
seriously? wow!!

keropok,
ya lah! on weekends sometimes its switch-off , cause really not necessary .lol!

zsolt,
heheheh...i think they are gorgeous subject for photography, that's why i'm sad to see if they go ..

Denton,
without them the good thing probably is i could stand in the middle of the round-about and photograph freely without disrupting anything ;)

Photowanabe,
bicycles conquer over her. I like them as a subject plus they are environmentally friendly :)

Thank you all for your visits :)
