Lowland

*sunflowers/corns field will occupy some parts here soon, stay tune :)
Did you know that our town is only 84m (approx.) above sea level?
Well, we are located at southern lowland region of the Great Plain with plentiful of sunshine as well as extreme cold weather comparing to other parts of the country. If you wish to know more about the Great Plain, read here and here .

Very good shot. Nearly abstract.

a lovely picture. You'll have to come back later in the summer and take another when all the sunflowers and corn are growing. I am enjoying all the pictures from your town.

Wow! That's flat. Makes me think of the jokes they tell about the flatness of the province of Saskatchewan here in Canada: A man's wife got in the car and left him and he could see her leaving for two days

Here in the North of France we have also a great part of land which is flat. But here in the South of the North it is a little more higher. So in the plain it looks like here. The flat plain inspired many poets or singers like Jacques Brel. I read with interest the text in link about Tchernobyl. At this time was my mother in travel in Yougoslavia (it was the name of this land at this time) and they said to the people to stay in the house because a dangerous cloud was coming. But they stayed only one or two hours in the house and went then out. My mother has since this time problems with her thyroide and cannot weight more than 42 kilos. Here in France they said it was nothing here, but we are near Belgium and at the Belgish radio they said something else. On the day after the explosion it was very sunny and hot, but the air had something curious. We didn't know nothing about it, but the air was a little brighter as normally and without knowing something we let the windows all opened. At the day after the air was like insects do in your skin (I don't know the word in english) and two days after it rained and the rain drops were like little arrows. My husband get some buttons on the skin of his hands a few weeks after and they toke years to went away.

perle : I'm sorry to hear your parents are affected by the radioactive rain. The incident you mentioned, I read in one of the link I've given. The radioactive rain was due the accident in Chernobyl nuclear reactor. For quite some time, people were relying on import of food. Fortunately it is all clear and good now :)
