Didn't mean to intrude this man's privacy, I saw him couple of times infront of our garage. We usually exchange glances for few seconds, then he's back into his "deep thought". He has a pile of clothes on his bicycle. You think he is homeless? Since I can't offer much help (can I?), the only consolation thought is at least winter is gone, and he need not stay out in the cold ...
Extract from news report "...some chose to be homeless due to "private reasons" ....homeless in Budapest are not only the "richest" but they also have the most university degrees (3%) ..."

Its a very evocative photo. I'm having difficulty myself deciding where the line is as far as invading privacy goes...Read the article - left me wondering what the private reasons are and what having income meant. The man in the your photo sure look sad and lost.
I lokie the way you framed him...
He looks deep in thought
A lot of homeless people here have severe psychiatric problems such as schizophrenia and no one to turn to; then there are others with alcohol or drug related problems and a third group which have both.
Finding a large enough group of homeless people who have sufficient mental clarity to answer a questionnaire that is statistically viable would be extremely difficult.
Nice shot.
It always makes me think ' where are there loved ones?'Good capture Kris.
Bob : mental clarity would definitely be affected after many years living on the streets. One other factor which lead to homeless here in Budapest is the unemployement..there're simply too many law graduates, for example, yet many are flooding to the course which made themself unemployable...
mark : thats one of my thought as well..it'll remain a mystery ..
Louz : i guess i was sure he wont find out that i've posted his photo here..
thank you all for stopping by :)
Interesting shot and always good to remember and learn about the homeless and why we have them among us...thanks for the reminder.
Liking the shot here Kris, but I think the processing lets it down.
His he homeless by choice or because he cannot avoid a shelter over his head? Coming from a third world country I think its an important distinction here in the western world.
Nice photo edges - the man looks sad - I hope he will be ok :(
I saw a homeless man on a bus bench the other day. He was talking to himself. I thought he must be crazy, but we have a friend who was homeless for a little while and he said that he talked to himself too. You just have no one to talk to.
so sad ....
being homeless is one thing, but being so lonely that one talks to oneself is just so sad, such loneliness is a torture.
That's a lovely, but sad photo!
I always wonder what other people are thinking about. I really wonder about this gentleman. I wonder what his story is.
Maybe this man's life has been a tragedy impossible to overcome. Maybe he has a greater capacity for suffering than most. Maybe he has a greater capacity for seeing beauty. Or all of the above. Who knows?
thanks everyone for your thoughts, this pic is a reminder of how lucky we are.... :)
It's fabulous! Love this photo!
We do have a lot of homeless in San Francisco, but it's so difficult to take pictures. This one is very expressive and respect the privacy of the man.Bravo.
I would ask what I could do to help him. He is our brother, to be cared for.
How do you know he is not the leader of a people?
I was homeless twice.
geneline : yup, respect is the word :)
White buffolo woman : i should have asked, i know...you are lucky to pick up your life. Happy for you :)
