We have moved!

We have moved from this little town of Szentes to Kecskemét for a number of years now. Where exactly is our "new" location? To give you an idea, here's an extraction from Wiki  :-

"Kecskemét lies halfway between the capital Budapest and the country's third-largest city, Szeged, 86 kilometres from both of them and almost equal distance from the two big rivers of the country, the Danube and the Tisza. Busó-walk / Busójárás

Happened on 22 February.
It's a pity we didn't make it back ; but the video taken from facebook showed how fun the Busójárás was! :)

Yarn storming

How "knit" is this?!  A couple of trees at Kiss Balint Street were being adorned with knitted or crocheted yarn.

Considered a type of street art / graffiti, "yarn storming was initially almost exclusively about reclaiming and personalizing sterile or cold public places" ~ Wiki

Internation Free Hug day

Despite the photo being rubbish, I am (re)posting 'cos today is International Free Hug Day.

Theme day: Festival of the Belly Button

When I first make the big move here in 2005, I received my first digital point 'n shoot camera, a gift to document my new life in a new country.

It was also the early years of photo sharing on the internet; so, enthusiastically I joined many photo sharing sites. In the beginning, many of my photos was just point and shoot (duh!), without considering the proportion etc.


Over time, I learned more on photo compositions and editing from others. By 2006, my first digital camera retired when I upgraded to semi-dslr; which am still currently using.

For this theme day, I submit 2 shots of the rail tracks, both taken just within months. The noticeable difference for me was that in the later shot, I got more comfortable with photo editing programmes, and experimented a lot more.

July 24th was their 5th Anniversary! I have no idea why this photo has been sitting in my archive for this long...
Anyway, that was my first sighting of newly weds on carriage ride and I understand that this is a tradition of the Roma people.

Reading nook

If you're not into novels, fictions and such, you should still visit the newspapers & periodicals section of the library. As it is light , airy, full of green and the reading materials are good, too. Best section in my opinion!

Kyokushin 極真 revisited (3)

A few weeks ago, we walked pass the Shinto Gate and was pleasantly surprised to see this new mural bull (?) & martial artist. Unfortunately, I was without camera at the time.
Then I read that the European championship is to be held on last Satuday April, 16 and of course I have to be there to post the updated memorial here.

Day after christmas
