The side walk racer, no more?

I'm completely obsessed with sepia and lomo mood at the moment; so, bear with me :) These boys (some girls) have this little space for their "extreme" sports. Sure its a bit dingy..at least it is safer than the streets. Good news is, there are plans to build them a proper facility.

One item less

Yay! finally "swimming pool" has been struck off from the list of places to photograph (specifically for this blog). I think I probably won't be as interested in the activities going on around me if not for this blog. So, I do get satisfaction out of this.. then again, my "to photograph" list is getting shorter and I havent even reached 300th post yet..help! what about you? do you have a format for your DP?

Some info. regarding the pool and water polo
The first open air swimming pool was completed in 1896.
The 50 metre pool was later added by 1932.
Our teams play a significiant role in contributing to the world famous Hungarian water polo.
The women team are several timeas Hungarian champions and European and world champions.
The junior team are also 2 times Hungarian Champions.

Capoeira

Lets take a rest from the christmas talk..quite frankly, I'm bored of my own photos lately, so bare with me. Hope you don't mind that I dug up this one from the archive taken in Sep.
These guys were demonstrating capoeira , a relatively new sports for us, i think. If not for the sumersaults and acrobatic moves, I would be signing up for the class..see a demo. clip here (scroll down), you may be interested ? Psst...that guy with long hair was sleek, really wowed us ;)

You have given us the experience of excitement, laughter, joy, sing-alongs, cheer-alongs, the wave, tears (of victory/defeat), nationally known atheletes, singers, dancers, a place of training for football, basketball, karate, etc to face more sporting challenges, and not forgetting a place for me to practice indoor photography

Happy tenth, to our sports stadium !! egészségedre (cheers!)

Szentes is also a Hungary's National sports town since 1996.

Rendezvouz

Apparently the weather is still good for canoe kayak -(dat)ing. Seeing this, how can I not ask our canoe kayak king , KALA - Have you ever dated this way?

Row, row, row your boat (canoe)

The atmosphere wasn't too serious during yesterday's inter-school canoeing competition. Lots of laughter, cheering and of course a little bit of friendly teasing. Ah... how nice to be a teenager again!!

Fun fact : the canoes were name after the (snow white &) 7 dawfts ?!

Euro Velo

Pretty soon, we hope to see/welcome tourists cycling through the town's route of Euro Velo, a project that provides a safe bicycle path crossing the whole continent of Europe (60,000km of which 20,000km is ready / Hungarian section approx.400 km). Remember : don't leave your bike at home the next time you travel to Europe ;)
