Yarn storming

How "knit" is this?!  A couple of trees at Kiss Balint Street were being adorned with knitted or crocheted yarn.

Considered a type of street art / graffiti, "yarn storming was initially almost exclusively about reclaiming and personalizing sterile or cold public places" ~ Wiki

Photo of the day

Phototrade, one of the photo hostings sites I'm a member of selected the above as their photo of the day! Here's what they wrote ...

" It’s not every day you get to see intimate and beautiful photos of
a small town in Hungary... "
Thank you :)

ps. The owner of this house is of course a watch repairer!

More Graffiti

With the bench infront of the graffiti, this setting feels like in an art gallery. It just depends you'd prefer street art or nature. By the way, is it Bast or Rast? I could never understand what they paint!
Happy weekend!

Paint your wall

mirror, mirror on the wall, what shall we do with this cement wall?
~ give the students some paints and so murals will hang on this wall.

Nice or otherwise?

My first impression of these scriblings on a public wall were "cute!" . Guess I was imagining some kids playing teacher or found a creative way to practice maths., nevermind the vandalism.

That made me realised how my level of tolerance changes towards different kinds of graffiti. Example, unappealing ones = crap & eyesore, where as if I see more colours, slightly artistic graffiti, I'd say more please! How hypocrite of me.

So tell me, which category do you belong to?

First impression

Preparing for DP is like doing homework for me. The routine is on the night before publishing, search online for more info. on the subject. Well, I didn't do my homework last night, and this morning I was searching high and low without any result. Anyhow, this mosaic mural is the first public art I noticed when I visited szentes for the first time in 2004, it remains my favourite til this day. Do you have a fave. art mural in your city/town?

Educate me, please .......

I've seen similar type of street art in other countries, usually created using stencil & spray paint. This in particular was found near some random wall near the town's park. Can anyone tell me more? I dont think he's a famous person, right? and that code? R2-D2? :D I've been curious since I first saw it last year..
ps. thanks Lisi and Anne, i do know what is R2D2.. :D (see earlier comments)

Graffiti #2

*rainny day on the day of departure....
Train services are slowly modernising in the country. Meanwhile in our town such trains are still widely in use. Personally, I think the graffiti is refreshing as opposed to the dull grey and blue. Even nicer (again, imo) if the street artists could paint something as seen here documented by TrierDP..just love it!

Graffiti Sunday

what better ways to celebrate the 100th city DP Blog then painting a graffiti to mark the occasion! To do so, I can only paint at a wall specified by the town council for graffities...how do you like it ?
okay, the writing was added by me using photofilter. You can see the recently repainted wall here in full size.
