Educate me, please .......

I've seen similar type of street art in other countries, usually created using stencil & spray paint. This in particular was found near some random wall near the town's park. Can anyone tell me more? I dont think he's a famous person, right? and that code? R2-D2? :D I've been curious since I first saw it last year..
ps. thanks Lisi and Anne, i do know what is R2D2.. :D (see earlier comments)

I'm sure someone know the answer, but I don't. The face kinda looks like Duke Ellington.

Hi Kris, I don't know the face and it would look a bit eerie at night I think. but R2D2 is the robot in Star Wars, the short and smart one ;-)

the artist certainly knew what colour to use. striking image!

though he does look like duke ellington, I have a feeling it may be martin luther king, jr. grafitti art tends to have a social message of somekind. the R2-D2 reference...hmmm...

So it seems to be Duke Ellington...
I have no idea what the letters refer to.

That does look like Ellington. Will ask around here. I saw similar graffiti in FL while visiting family.

R2D2 is cute. I love him.

Nice colour contrast

My vote is for Duke Ellington. Maybe the RD2 is the "signature" of the (very talented) artist? Cool blue.

Hi everybody !

My opinion is that Mister Count Basie was honoured here , by a tiny white can of steel with painting tools on :-)

I'll post a special interlude for you, Kris, just after that second Lion

- PS : so funny those word verification processes : right now i have, if pronounced : Cutee, oh, jizem.
