A little effort goes a long way

For someone (moi) who has taken out garbage only 3+ times before moving here (really embarrassed to admit), separating the garbage into respective recycle bins is a big deal to me! I feel that I've done my small part in preserving the environment :)
From what I observed, people here have adapted well to this way of garbage treatment, considering that Hungary implemented this system only in late 2003. Better late than never, right?! ;)

We have another recycle bin to plastics and metals but glass goes all to the same box, separation its a routine like any other but essential since on these day's we produce a lot of garbage:(

Well, what a coincidence, recycling bins too! I'm posting a link to your site so everybody can see the hungarian bins, and compare them with the Madrid's strange thing we call bin. :)

That's such an important thing to do!

Interesting to see how these containers look like in Hungary.

Well done Kris, we have them here as Bob has said. Besides the color you can guess by the mouth of the containers, flat for paper, or round for bottles, etc.

Just curious. Where I live there are big round bins with lids (but not locked as the ones in your photo are) and the trucks have an arm that picks up the bins, holds them upside down and dumps the contents in the back of the truck, and then the arm puts the bins back on the ground. Pickup once a week. Is it different there?

love what you did here..!!photofiltre? :)
what about the biodegradable stuffs? it's wonderful that your community is doing this..here, there are a few, but not really that well taken..i guess because it isn't really strictly implemented.. :(
people are slowly acclimatizing to the idea, though..

maiylah : yup, i used photofiltre :) i think it's the important part is the enforcement.

Louz : hahaha..you have described well! yes, we do have the same kind. That is a larger bin, but that is for wet/food stuff..so very slimy :o

carlos : good eye! that's the way to determine which goes where :)

nuno : nowadays every products come with so much of packaging , each day we clear at least two bins full :s

carmen : i like yours much much better :)
