I don't buy local magazines as I couldn't read Hungarian (yet!). Still, I love to cruise through the colourful magazine pages to get updated with trends, etc. The best placeto do so, of course, is at the town's library. You may see the exterior
here (yup, that's me in the photo).
The extensive display you see above is renewed every month . Mostly elders visit the library in the morning to read the local dailies. It's also good place to enjoy the morning sun through those windows :)

We have the same problem. Although I am very interested in reading japanese literature, I still cant read perfectly. Sometimes I manage to read but dont quite know the whole meaning. There are just a few bookstores that sell english books so I buy from the net.
nice use of light and shadow in the pic here kris. i know how you feel...it's frustrating living somewhere where you can't read what everyone else takes for granted. when i first arrived in japan i felt like a 3 year-old child as people had to do everything for me!
Hi! Midnitebara :)
How long have you reside in Japan?
Over here the choices are very limited as well. the only thing i buy is Newsweek . About buying on net, i'm still not so confident about the postal system here.
Interesting that they have magazines in the library. The one I usually go to only has books and CDs, but it's also just a smaller one.
Hi Grant!
Yes, it's VERY frustrating !! that's still happening to me :s Guess the best is to learn the language FAST !!!
Hi Nicola!
CDs? i wonder if ours have? big or small, as long as we enjoy the place :)
i love magazines and it´s really cool you can read them in then library!
very beautiful colors, light and shadow in this one
haven't been to a library since i left uni - i should - some of them are a gold mine of phtos - especially the more older, grander ones.

Nice tones. Keep on with the Hungarian.
Very nice photos, Kris. It's been a while since I went to our city library. It's a nice place to go. It has DVD's CD's and even computer software you can checkout for up tp three weeks. thy've got books, magazines and newapapers too.
Cheers,
Mark
not the easiest of languages so good luck. i'm a magazine junkie :)
I like that door at the bottom against the blue sky
Going 4 years already! Sometimes I ask my bro ,in Texas USA to send me bundles of books. And last year when I went to Tokyo, I bought bundles of them too. Kind of stacking them so that I wont be lacking in reading materials. However there are new bestsellers that I just have to read so I order from Amazon.
Hi! Lisi,Cynthia,Moscow,BoB, Carlos, Andrea - Thanks :)
Hi! Adam - Thanks and welcome! Yes, soe of the libraries have pretty neat designs. I look forward of seeing yours :)
Hi! Mark - Computer softwares? How cool ! Hmmm..those e-books? Well, you should definitely visit more often :)
