CDP Theme day ~ Beauty of decay 4/4 Petőfi Hotel

For this theme , we knew that we have to feature this important but decaying landmark of the town.
Since 2006, this blog has been documenting the  restoration works of this former hotel. We even took a "before" photo in anticipation of the planned restoration.

You might think, well, that roof doesn't look so bad or the signage is still kind of standing. Talking about the sign, its gorgeous, isn't it? To show you how much beauty is left of this building, we have posted 3 more photos prior to the theme day (scroll down this blog) for you to take in the details and background story of this yet-to-happen restoration.

To see all entries from around the world, please visit here

ps. as its the weekend, I'll visit your blogs later , got to prep. for guests :)

Thank you so much for drawing our attention to the previous photos you have posted of this magnificent building. The first one really demonstrates that this place needs to be restored. It is beautiful.

That is a wonderful old building. It makes me happy that it is being restored.

It is sad that the restoration is taking so long, Kris. I guess it is a sign of the economic times. I particularly like the photo of the tower that you posted on Thursday.

Many thanks for your contribution to Theme Day.
