CDP Theme day ~ Beauty of decay 4/4 Petőfi Hotel
For this theme , we knew that we have to feature this important but decaying landmark of the town.
Since 2006, this blog has been documenting the restoration works of this former hotel. We even took a "before" photo in anticipation of the planned restoration.
You might think, well, that roof doesn't look so bad or the signage is still kind of standing. Talking about the sign, its gorgeous, isn't it? To show you how much beauty is left of this building, we have posted 3 more photos prior to the theme day (scroll down this blog) for you to take in the details and background story of this yet-to-happen restoration.
To see all entries from around the world, please visit here
ps. as its the weekend, I'll visit your blogs later , got to prep. for guests :)

Beauty of decay 3/4 Petőfi Hotel
At that time, the building was 107 years old. Seven years on, after some initial works of stripping, the project came to a halt several years ago. There were problems with the project manager, so we heard.
Because of the long delays, the building now looks worse than before! However, if you look closer, we believe you will find beauty in the decay ;) We're posting a series of 4 photos to show you some remaining details.
#News April 22, 2013 - the works is back on under a new management. source

We have moved!
We have moved from this little town of Szentes to Kecskemét for a number of years now. Where exactly is our "new" location? To give you an idea, here's an extraction from Wiki :-
"Kecskemét lies halfway between the capital Budapest and the country's third-largest city, Szeged, 86 kilometres from both of them and almost equal distance from the two big rivers of the country, the Danube and the Tisza. It is the northern of two centres of the Hungarian Southern Great Plain (Hungarian: Del-Alföld) region (comprising the three counties Bács-Kiskun, Békés and Csongrád); the southern centre is Szeged, the seat of Csongrád county. " - Wikipedia
You can join us at http://kecskemetdailyphoto.blogspot.hu/ , a photo blog documenting what we see and experience in our "new" home, Kecskemét.
Meanwhile, we'll still maintain this blog as and when we have new materials to share.
Thank you :)

Yarn storming
How "knit" is this?! A couple of trees at Kiss Balint Street were being adorned with knitted or crocheted yarn. |
Considered a type of street art / graffiti, "yarn storming was initially almost exclusively about reclaiming and personalizing sterile or cold public places" ~ Wiki |

Theme day: Festival of the Belly Button
When I first make the big move here in 2005, I received my first digital point 'n shoot camera, a gift to document my new life in a new country.
It was also the early years of photo sharing on the internet; so, enthusiastically I joined many photo sharing sites. In the beginning, many of my photos was just point and shoot (duh!), without considering the proportion etc.
Over time, I learned more on photo compositions and editing from others. By 2006, my first digital camera retired when I upgraded to semi-dslr; which am still currently using.
For this theme day, I submit 2 shots of the rail tracks, both taken just within months. The noticeable difference for me was that in the later shot, I got more comfortable with photo editing programmes, and experimented a lot more.
